Bill Maher could barely contain himself as he roasted Donald Trump's controversial cabinet picks, questioning: 'Do I really have to write jokes for this?'
The comedian quipped that the jokes write themselves as he rifled through nominees including Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth, and ended his monologue in chuckles as he named WWE wrestling executive Linda McMahon as Education Secretary,
'The Republicans, man, when they take power, they grab it by the p***y,' he began. 'They don't f*** around.
'They’re not even in charge yet, they just won the election. Already, big changes in the House.'
Noting that Gaetz dropped out as Trump's nominee for Attorney General amid controversy over a child sex trafficking investigation - in which he was not charged - Maher said Republicans decided he was 'too despicable, even for us.'
The host also referenced a bill introduced by Congresswoman Nancy Mace this week seeking to ban incoming rep. Sarah McBride, the first openly transgender House member, from using the public female restrooms at the Capitol.
'Yeah, thank God the adults are back in charge,' he said in response.
Maher then poked fun at the sexuality of South Carolina Senator Linsday Graham, joking that after the bill was introduced, Graham 'volunteered to check for dicks.'
Bill Maher could barely contain himself during his monologue on Friday night as he roasted Donald Trump's controversial cabinet picks, questioning: 'Do I really have to write jokes for this?'
The comedian continued his bit about Graham's sexuality as he brought up Gaetz's replacement as Attorney General nominee, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.
When asked for his reaction to Bondi's announcement, Graham said this week she would be a 'grand slam, touchdown, hole in one, ace, hat trick, slam dunk, Olympic gold medal pick.'
In his monologue on Friday night, Maher added: 'Yeah, because nothing says ‘I’m straight’ like overcompensating with a sports metaphor.'
Graham, a lifelong bachelor, has flatly denied rumors that he is gay in the past.
'To the extent that it matters, I'm not gay,' Graham said in October, responding to a tweet from comedian Chelsea Handler implying that he was gay.
'Then there’s Fox & Friends‘ Pete Hegseth, who’s nominated to be the Secretary of Defense,' Maher continued.
'He was accused — again, just accused — of having, she says, nonconsensual sexual relations, he says, consensual. So again, we don’t know. You weren’t there. I wasn’t there. We don’t know.
'But it does raise the question - has anyone ever had sex with someone from Fox News and liked it?'

Maher also brought up sexual assault allegations against Trump's pick for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (who denies the claims) joking: 'Has anyone ever had sex with someone from Fox News and liked it?'
Concluding his remarks, Maher said: 'I’m not saying this crew will not be good at their jobs, but they will be the first cabinet that’s asked to stay 500 feet outside a school.
'You know that useless sexual harassment seminar that we all have to do at work? We finally found an office that needs it.'
As he mentioned McMahon's name as the new Secretary of Education, Maher broke down laughing as he said: 'Do I really have to write jokes for this?'
