A couple was nearly left stranded on their honeymoon after they were turned away from five different hotels due to a small, overlooked detail.
Savanna Stallings, 20, from Idaho, tied the knot with her boyfriend, Ty Walker, 19, last month.
But when the newlyweds set out on their honeymoon, they faced a major problem that almost resulted in them having to sleep in their car.
The couple told Newsweek recently that they planned to celebrate their marriage by embarking on a cruise, but had to take a 30-hour road trip to get to the departure port in South Carolina first.
They had booked a hotel in Nebraska so they could rest about halfway through the journey, but when they arrived to the accommodation around midnight, the pair was in for a shock.
'We were turned away because of [our] age, even when we offered to show our marriage license,' shared Savanna.
The new bride said they went to four more hotels but got the same results, leaving them terrified that they might have nowhere to stay.
'It being midnight and we were nowhere near anybody we knew, we thought for a second we may be sleeping in the car,' she shared.

Thankfully, one hotel finally agreed to let them stay after 'calling both of their parents,' the publication said.
Suddenly, the couple realized they might face a similar problem when they got to the cruise port.
They tried to check-in for the cruise online but weren't allowed to - and the panicked couple began to worry that their whole trip may have to be canceled.
But the cruise was much more accommodating and ultimately allowed them to board after they 'let them know their situation.'
'At the check-in desk, we just had to have our [marriage] license and ID,' Savanna added.
According to Royal Caribbean's website, 'No guest younger than the age 21 will be assigned to a stateroom unless accompanied in the same stateroom by an adult 21 years old or older.'
However, the policy states that the 'age limit will be waived' for 'underage married couples.'
Savanna opened up about the predicament on TikTok earlier this month, and it quickly went viral.

She shared a clip of Ty looking stressed out while standing at the check-in counter with their marriage license in hand.
'POV: You got married at 19 and 20, your honeymoon is a cruise but you have to be 21 to board the ship,' she wrote, adding in the caption, 'The joys of being young and married.'

The video, which was viewed more than two million times, sparked a slew of backlash for the pair.
'Dumb every way,' one person wrote, while another added, 'It most definitely says how old you have to be to board a cruise when you book it.'
'Y'all don't read the terms and conditions?' asked someone else.
'Well, you live and you learn. That’s quite the expensive mistake,' a fourth comment read.
A fifth said, 'This is common knowledge.'
In response to the haters, Savanna posted a follow-up video, in which she explained that after the 'problems' they faced at the hotels on the way to the port, they 'did research and made phone calls' to make sure they could 'get on the ship' before arriving.
'For all those worried that we were too young to be married 'cause we can't even do our own research, it was researched and really easy and smooth,' she added.
