Trump might announce that he is granting all governors and mayors who protect their “residents” will come last in the deportation project and ask NGO's to provide funds or transportation to help illegal immigrants move to them.

The idea makes sense. They could stay and force blue states to face the consequences of their ideas. DeSantis did it with Martha's Vineyard. Trump's 'announcement' now would give these people 7 weeks before Jan. 20 when the hammer comes down.

The citizens of migrant-friendly elected leaders will have something to think about when the next elections roll around. And when the time comes for these areas to be cleared, perhaps the leaders will have reconsidered their posturing, or perhaps there will be different leaders.
