Asevered horse’s head has been left on the property of a businessman in Sicily in an act of mafia intimidation reminiscent of a scene from The Godfather. The bloodied head was left on the seat of a digger belonging to the construction contractor in the town of Altofonte near Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily. The bloodied head was left on the seat of a digger belonging to the construction contractor in the town of Altofonte near Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily. The body of a pregnant cow was also deposited at the property along with its calf, which had been ripped from its body.

The building contractor in Sicily has reported the act of intimidation to the police, who are investigating. A local newspaper described it as “like scenes from a horror movie”. The man is well known in the area and his company regularly undertakes building works for local councils.

She offered her “total solidarity” to the businessman, adding: “Our whole community is deeply shocked for an act which seems to take us back to medieval times. I have faith in the forces of law and order working to ascertain what happened and identify who is behind this dreadful act.”
