Robertson Sees Red as League Leaders Held at Home

Given Arsenal’s goalless draw against Everton, Liverpool missed the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Arne Slot’s side had to settle for a 2-2 draw in an entertaining game at Anfield.

However, given how they started the game, Liverpool might well be relieved they managed to get anything from it at all.

The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes, with Andreas Pereira spectacularly volleying home Antonee Robinson’s cross at the back post.

Liverpool’s start then went from bad to worse after 15 minutes. Sasa Lukic attempted to find Harry Wilson with a long diagonal pass, but there seemed to be no danger for the Reds as Andy Robertson stepped across to cut it out.

However, the Scot miscontrolled the ball, allowing Wilson to nip in and dispossess him. In an attempt to win the ball back, Robertson clattered into the Fulham man and was deservedly sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Since his Liverpool debut, Robertson is the only Liverpool player to have been sent off more than once.

Cody Gakpo equalised for the hosts, ghosting in at the backpost to head home a curled cross from Mohamed Salah. The assist marked Salah’s 100th for Liverpool in all competitions.

Mohamed Salah now has 100 assists for Liverpool in all competitions.

Since his debut for the club in August 2017, only three players have made more in Europe's Top Five Leagues (all comps):

Fulham got their noses back in front in the second half. Robinson produced another lung-busting run down the left before squaring the ball for Rodrigo Muniz to bundle home.

Diogo Jota’s sharp turn and finish levelled matters with five minutes of regular time to go.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last four games where they’ve conceded the first goal.
