Former NFL star Brian Urlacher believes sports stars are no longer scared to show their support for Donald Trump.

Many athletes - across football, soccer, golf and MMA - have celebrated by imitating the president-elect in recent weeks.

Brock Bowers, Christian Pulisic, Jon 'Bones' Jones and Charley Hull are among those to copy Trump's iconic dance moves.

It comes after the 78-year-old secured a return to the White House with victory over Kamala Harris in the presidential election.

For the last few years, Urlacher believes, many people have been 'silent' Trump supporters.

But now the former Bears linebacker claims athletes are no longer afraid of being criticized for their political beliefs.

Raiders tight end Brock Bowers imitated the president-elect after scoring a touchdown

'People were scared for a while. You don’t want people to talk bad about you, how we’ve been talked about the last four years if you’re a Donald Trump supporter,' Urlacher told Fox.

'I think now, no one’s scared anymore. It’s nice to see these guys coming out and everyone who’s a silent Trump supporter… I think they’re just excited now that he got the job done, and he’s gonna get the job done the next four years.'

On Tuesday, it emerged that the NFL has 'no issue' with players performing the Trump dance while celebrating on the field,.

Bowers, Calvin Ridley and Nick Bosa are among those to give a nod to the billionaire but the league has no plans to crack down on the craze.

An NFL spokesperson told Front Office Sports: 'There’s no issue with a celebratory dance such as what took place yesterday or the previous week with the 49ers... it’s up to the networks to cover them as they see fit.'

The 49ers' Bosa was fined nearly $12,000 for sporting a MAGA hat while interrupting a teammate's on-camera interview, with the NFL ruling he was guilty of violating the league's rule preventing players from displaying messages on the field.
