A realtor has issued a warning to parents about the dangers of bringing kids to house showings after witnessing a horrifying ordeal.
Karina VanOrman shared a story of how a family who were viewing a home in Utah wound up with their six-year-old daughter in hospital.
The family had brought their three children to the viewing where they soon became bored and restless.
'The kids would be running through the home,' said VanOrman, who at one point attempted to 'corral' the children.
Playful fun soon turned disastrous, and the little girl sped through the home toward the backyard.
'I could see that she did not notice the sliding door was closed,' she said, and added that she had made a futile attempt to call out to the girl. 'Before she could stop herself, she ran straight through that glass door.'
The girl smashed the glass door and caused a huge shard of glass to pierce her stomach.
'She looked down in total panic, and she grabbed it with both hands and pulled it out and cut her hands,' VanOrman recalled.

The little girl was rushed to hospital, also with several injuries to her head, while VanOrman attempted to console the frantic mother and other children.
'I just needed to be strong in that situation,' she said. 'And I needed to be the one not in shock.'

'I don't actually recommend the kids come because of this situation,' she said in her video.
Viewers in the comments agreed with the realtor, and many made a point of the lack of parenting that is often the case in situations such as these.
'Some parents don't realize that you have to be parent at all times, no matter where you are or what you're doing,' wrote one.
'If you have to bring your kids. One parent should watch them while the other looks then switch out,' said another.
'We took four kids around to look at houses and they knew to stand "still" and keep their voices down. Why can't parents teach their kids these things anymore?'

While many believed it shouldn't be the realtor's responsibility to look after a client's children.
'The audacity of any parent to assume you'd watch their kids,' wrote one.
'I'm soooo sick of parents expecting strangers to parent their kids,' said another.
VanOrman, however, revealed how she tries to prevent children from becoming restless while they tag along with their parents on their house viewings.
She wrote back to one commenter who queried the children becoming bored and said: 'Parents will often bring their kids on an all-day outing of looking at homes.
'After the third home they get restless and by the 6th they are often melting down. We take breaks and I bring snacks.'
