A San Francisco Friendsgiving booze cruise descended into chaos Saturday night after organizers allegedly overbooked the event and refused to let at least 60 ticketholders on board.

The event was hosted by Skyline Yacht Cruises near Embarcadero, and billed itself as an opportunity to mingle with beautiful people on board a 150-foot yacht, the San Francisco Gate reports.

Revelers would then be able to dance, drink and stargaze on three decks of the multimillion-dollar yacht while sailing the 'Insta-worthy San Fran Bay' and take in views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, the event description said.

General boarding would start at 9.30pm, and the cruise would depart the pier at 10pm, it notes.

But many who arrived with their ticket in hand have said they weren't allowed on the boat - prompting some angry ticketholders to start throwing bottles at the yacht as it took off for the night.

'I was in a group of 30 people for a birthday party and none of us got on,' Andrew Clemmens posted on Reddit, claiming he arrived at 9.07pm.

He claimed the event organizers stopped people from boarding after the yacht reached capacity, 'and then told us it was our fault for being "late," and we weren't getting refunds.'

Clemmens also alleged people started boarding the boat at 9pm.

Video posted online showed an employee pushing a woman back from the gate as he said, 'We have to close this'

'I would understand if they cut off boarding to anyone who wasn't in line by 9:30pm but some people were in line since 9:15pm or earlier and the line was moving slowly as they were checking everyone's bags and confiscating alcohol,' he wrote.

Eventually, Clemmens claimed, ticket-holders who were not allowed on board 'started throwing the bottles at the ship' and police were called to the scene.

'Officers arrived on scene and determined that a pay dispute occurred,' San Francisco Police Department spokeswoman Paulina Henderson told the Gate.

'Officers were advised that no further police assistance was required a this time.'

That is when organizers finally said they would issue a refund to anyone still in line, he said.

Geobio Boo, who queued up at 9pm also told the Gate he never saw a line more so slow.

He said organizers started to shut the gates at 9.45pm,  at which point they started to turn away ticketholders.

'People were like, "What the f***?"' Boo said. 'So many people were pissed off.'

Video posted online showed a long line of passengers waiting to board the ship and yelling in frustration.

At one point, an employee could be seen pushing a woman back from the gate as he said, 'We have to close this.'

'Please, we have tickets,' the woman could be heard pleading.

'It's an outright clown show,' one person commented on the Reddit post. 'Look at the d***ed thing. It's just a modestly large yacht, not a cruise liner by any stretch of the imagination.

'It looks like it could comfortably accommodate just a few dozen passengers, so an overbooking of 60 is absolutely nuts.'

Another video shared to the San Francisco Gate shows a woman walking out of the ship to speak to the angry patrons, who cursed her out.

'You better give us our money back b****,' one person could be heard yelling.

The woman then told those in line she would issue them a refund if they text her, or she would give them a credit for another event.

'I guess they thought about 60 to 70 people would be OK with going home after paying $47 a piece and waiting in line for 40 minutes,' Clemmens wrote.

Eventually a woman came out and offered the patrons either a refund or a credit for a future event onboard one of their yachts

The event description, though, originally said there would be no refunds.

It noted that 'promoters, venue owners, venue management, security, event staff and other agents of the event have the right to refuse entry to any ticketholder, without a refund, for any reason at their discretion, including but not limited to: disorderly behavior, failing to comply with the rules of the venue, incorrect attire, intoxication, venue capacity breach of security and other restrictions.'

It also said that 'unforeseen circumstances beyond promoter's control will not be grounds for a refund, including but not limited to the following: local or national weather conditions, natural disasters, waiting in lines, extended waits in lines, family emergencies, medical emergencies, employment issues including layoffs, traffic, parking, public or private transportation issues, etc.'

Organizers have now pushed back on the claims that they overbooked the cruise and refused to let paying customers on board.

'None of this is the case and are all untrue statements,' a Skyline Yacht representative told the San Francisco Gate.

'Furthermore, our event was not overbooked.'
