Woah, woah, woah … What do we have going on here?
You may have heard the news already, but if not, it was ruled Monday by a federal judge in Colorado that transgender volleyball player Blaire Fleming is allowed to play on the San Jose State women’s team. Nonsense, I know.
Well, things just got a lot more interesting with the Mountain West Conference tournament kicking off Wednesday. (RELATED: Transgender Volleyball Player Allowed To Compete On Women’s Team, Court Rules)
First off, the conference doesn’t require their member schools to provide media availability both prior to and following matches. Rather, the Mountain West allows universities to decide whether or not they want to speak to the press. And shocker here: San Jose State isn’t providing accessibility to Fleming or the rest of the players, nor coaches at that, according to OutKick’s Dan Zaksheske.
The Daily Caller has reached out to both SJSU athletics director Jeff Konya and volleyball head coach Todd Kress for comment.
The MWC isn’t requiring media availability during the tournament, instead leaving it to the schools.
We requested SJSU players, including Blaire Fleming, but the school said they’re not “facilitating any interviews…during the Mountain West Tournament.” https://t.co/74RL3TJn82

None of this should be a surprise, though. San Jose State hasn’t allowed the media to speak with Fleming all season, and even discouraged their players and coaching staff from talking with any reporters, so they’re definitely going to hide from the heat now.
SJSU heads into the Mountain West tournament as the No. 2 seed, playing the winner of Utah State and Boise State — you already know who I’m NOT rooting for.
