Sleeping shop worker startled awake by bear inches from his face

Video footage captured the moment a sleeping shop worker awoke to the sight of a bear just inches from his face.

The worker, who goes by Mr. Zang, was bundled up in bed inside a roadside shop in Tibet when he was startled by the surprise visitor.

The curious beast had managed to get the door of the shop open before quietly letting itself in, leaving Zang peacefully in his slumber.

Footage showed the bear nosing around underneath the shop's counter right next to the man as he laid covered in a blanket.

As the bear made its way closer to the Zang's head, he suddenly snapped awake and pulled his head back.

Shocked by the terrifying sight, he stayed motionless as the bear continued to meander around the small shop.

As the uninvited guest stood on its hind legs to scour a countertop, Zang slowly rose out of bed before grabbing his phone and dashing out of the room.

Police were called to the scene and there were no reports of any injuries.
