An infographic posted by a BIPOC polyamory advocate has been ridiculed online, with users slamming the post for being 'too woke.'

Ebony Hagans, who uses they/them pronouns, regularly posts to their Instagram account @marjanilane, to raise awareness about the nonmonogamy community.

The BIPOC - Black, Indigenous, and people of color - 'expert' and creator originally posted the graphic in September 2020.

The illustration, which was intended to be a tool to explain what 'solo poly' means, has now resurfaced.

However, the detailed explanation has confused many internet users after it reappeared on X, formally known as Twitter, who are mocking it for its attempt to reach a range of minorities.

'Solo polyamory is a type of polyamorous configuration,' the graphic, which features a woman of color wearing a hijab with a prosthetic leg, read.

'Solo poly people tend to see theirselves as their own primary,' it continued.

'They usually have multiple separate (or intertwined) polyamorous dynamics. They are committed to their polyamorous relationships.'

'They don't depend on the relationship escalator to express their commitment,' the post concluded.

It went on to detail other facts about solo poly relationships, writing people in these romantic arrangements are not 'flakey' or 'selfish.'

Solo polyamory is a person who has multiple partners or relationships but don't have a 'primary' partner.

However, people have slammed the post, calling 'too woke,' with others complaining about the decision to depict the woman in the graphic as an amputee and woman of color.

'Parody is almost getting hard to recognize,' chimed in another.

'I honestly don't understand any of that.

'I need a few minutes to re-read and translate that,' one user shared.

'This is too woke for me sorry,' wrote someone else.

However, the detailed explanation has confused many internet users, who are mocking it for its attempt to reach range of minorities

'I feel it's very disrespectful and racist to depict a Somalian woman as a pirate, you guys should get cancelled,' mocked another.

Last week, Hagans spoke with USA Today saying they feel there is a lack of acknowledgment about being polyamorous as a minority from the nonmonogamy community.

Hagans said they have been polyamorous with their partner for a while, noticing a 'huge gap of education between the Black community and just a general nonmonogamous community.'

According to accounts from sex therapists, polyamory describes a situation in which multiple partners have romantic or intimate relationships with each other, with the knowledge and consent of all involved.
