Star Wars: Visions is returning in 2025 for a third season that returns the spin-off to its anime roots, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced.

As reported by Deadline, Season 3 will feature nine short films from different Japanese anime studios, including those behind Cyberpunk Edgerunners in Studio Trigger and Attack on Titan in WIT Studio. The remaining studios include David Production, Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, and Project Studio Q.

"The award-winning anthology of animated short films celebrates the mythology of Star Wars through unique cultural lenses," Disney and Lucasfilm said.

Star Wars: Visions debuted as a mostly anime take on the galaxy far, far away, but opened up in Season 2 to depict stories from creators all around the world. The episodes aren't canon, at least not yet, but instead intended to be independent side stories set in the iconic sci-fi universe.

"Star Wars: Visions takes the building blocks of the franchise and rearranges them to create a series of compelling new stories bolstered by a breadth of visual styles and masterful animation," IGN said in our 8/10 review of Season 1.

Things only improved with Season 2, however, as our review awarded a 9/10. "Animation studios around the world unite to tell beautiful stories of family, resistance, and home in Star Wars: Visions Volume 2," we said.
