CV NEWS FEED // President-elect Donald Trump on Monday announced that he is selecting former Rep. Sean Duffy, R-WI, a Catholic husband and father of nine, to be the Secretary of Transportation.
“Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant,” Trump wrote in a statement announcing the nomination.
“During his time in Congress, Sean was a respected voice and communicator in the Republican Conference, advocating for Fiscal Responsibility, Economic Growth, and Rural Development,” the president-elect continued:
Admired across the aisle, Sean worked with Democrats to clear extensive Legislative hurdles to build the largest road and bridge project in Minnesota History.

Sean’s leadership extended to championing the needs of families, farmers and small businesses, especially in rural communities.
He will prioritize Excellence, Competence, Competitiveness and Beauty when rebuilding America’s highways, tunnels, bridges and airports.
Trump also wrote that Duffy “will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers.”
The president-elect added that Duffy, as a husband and “father of nine incredible children,” knows “how important it is for families to be able to travel safely, and with peace of mind.”
Duffy represented a sprawling, mostly rural congressional district based in northwestern Wisconsin from 2011 until he resigned in 2019 to take care of his then-newborn youngest child, who has special needs.
Previously, he served as the elected District Attorney of heavily Democratic Ashland County for eight years.
He is also known for starring on the MTW reality show “The Real World” in the late 1990s, where he met his wife Rachel Campos-Duffy, now a Fox & Friends Weekend co-hostess.

Trump previously nominated Campos-Duffy’s Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth to be the next Secretary of Defense.
After leaving Congress, Duffy became the co-host of “The Bottom Line” on FOX Business. He also appears on FOX News as a contributor.
If the soon-to-be Republican-controlled Senate confirms Duffy as expected, he will succeed controversial Biden-Harris Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
