Two drivers were severely injured on Saturday after they were struck by a third vehicle while discussing an earlier collision on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor near the city border.
Police said the two drivers were injured alongside a passenger from one of the vehicles at 2.59pm, and it was currently unclear how the incidents unfolded.
“The two injured drivers were having a discussion in the fast lane of the highway after getting out of their vehicles. Later on, there was a third vehicle that crashed into them when it could not stop in time,” said a police spokeswoman.
The force noted that the drivers had collapsed on the ground after the accident and were severely injured, with the pair taken to Tin Shui Wai Hospital for treatment.
