Surely you've heard the news that Aaron Donald is back.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year retired after the 2023-24 season, but now he's back, two seasons later, to join Myles Garrett with the Rams.

And just like that, arguably the most formidable defensive line tandem in history has been formed … if Donald is the Donald we remember.

How will he perform in his return? Let's see what the odds say at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 2.

Aaron DonaldAaron Donald Regular-Season Odds

To have 8+ sacks: +100 (bet $10 to win $20 total)

To have 10+ sacks: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)

To have 12+ sacks: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)

Most sacks: +7500 (bet $10 to win $760 total)

Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett to combine for 30+ sacks: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)

Here's what to know about this odds list:

Will History Repeat?: History says that Donald will cross the eight-sack mark. In nine of his 10 professional seasons, he had at least eight sacks, and in the one year he didn't, he only played 11 games, finishing with five sacks. Donald has had 10 or more sacks in six seasons, 12 or more four times, and over 15 once, when he racked up a league-leading 20.5 in 2018-19. However, Donald is now 35 and hasn't taken the field in two full seasons. How many snaps will he take? Will he start all 17 games?

Dynamic Duo: One thing Donald will have this season that he never had is a defensive player currently regarded as better than him. Garrett has twice been named Defensive Player of the Year, including winning the award last year. The soon-to-be 31-year-old Garrett had an NFL record 23 sacks last season, and had at least 14 sacks in each of the four seasons prior to that. The odds say the duo won't reach 30, but it's not farfetched simply based on Garrett's form. Conventional wisdom says Garrett could open up doors to the opposing quarterback that Donald has never witnessed, right?
