Three Hongkongers have been evacuated from Lebanon with the help of the Chinese embassy, authorities have disclosed.

Hong Kong’s Immigration Department said on Wednesday that the evacuation was coordinated with the foreign ministry’s office in the city and the Chinese embassy in Beirut.

They were safely transported by vessel and a flight was arranged, a spokesman said.

Israel said on Wednesday that it had carried out “targeted ground raids” in Lebanon, a move it claimed was directed at Iran-backed Hezbollah.
