Three people, including a young child, were injured after a truck collided with a Tesla car in Hong Kong’s Kowloon Tong.

Police said on Saturday that the driver of the Tesla, a man, was travelling with four passengers along Waterloo Road in the direction of Tsim Sha Tsui when he was forced to slow down near Lancashire Road due to morning traffic.

The driver of the truck behind him failed to stop in time, colliding with the rear of the car, the force said. Police were informed of the crash at 9.12am.

Two female car passengers, aged 36 and 59, complained of chest pain, while a seven-year-old boy had a headache. All three were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

One of the injured ladies arrived at hospital with a girl on her lap. The force did not provide further information about the girl.

Police said the drivers of the truck and private car had both passed breathalyser tests.
