Why you cappin’, Philly?

The Philadelphia 76ers have been handed a $100,000 fine from the NBA because of public statements that were made that misrepresented the health of their superstar center Joel Embiid. A few days prior, the NBA launched a routine investigation into the Sixers to make sure there weren’t any violations in regards to the league’s Player Participation Policy, which was a result of Embiid missing multiple games including a nationally televised one. The NBA found that Philly didn’t make any Player Participation violations, however, they did find that the franchise’s public comments about Embiid’s knee were a misrepresentation.

In an official statement, the league referenced comments that were issued by head coach Nick Nurse and president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, saying they were “inconsistent with Joel Embiid’s health status and in violation of NBA rules.”

I’m sure they told the 76ers, but damn, it’s annoying as hell when you’re nosy like me.
