Numerous bulls escaped from a rodeo at a Massachusetts mall on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 22 — and one animal is still on the loose.

According to ABC News, eight bulls escaped their pen at the rodeo, held at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, on the border of Rhode Island.

A shocking video from the incident shows rodeo attendees looking on as the loose animals race through the parking lot and crash into a fence. One of the bulls was caught shortly after breaking free.

Grew up in a suburban development as a kid near some farms, which had many steer, and the farmer would let us pet the cows, but he said stay away from the bull.

Another farm had a big chicken coop, and I walked in, lets just say the chicken "waste" in the coop was overwhelming.

A rodeo in Massachusetts? That’s like discovering someone is have a clam bake here in Wyoming. No wonder it went wrong.

A rooster will mess you up...

We were always told to stay away from the bull, or at least keep a fence between us and him. He was enormous, and would likely have followed us into the house for more apples.

I had six young bulls escape when I was taking them to auction. luckily there was a lot of help and the bulls self coraled a quarter mile down the road. I got slamed in the chest a couple times. This stuff always happened before I was to ship out. When I went to my pre-shipping physical the lady doctor looked at my black & blue chest but didn’t ask about it.

I was once parked on the side of the road in my work truck next to a dairy farm when an enormous big black bull came running up the road at full gallop toward my truck snorting and tossing his head. When he got to my truck, he kind of gave me a side-long glance and kept on truckin’. I figured someone left a gate open somewhere and, sure enough, when I went another 500 or so yards down the road, there was a bunch of cowhands standing next to an open swing gate just kind of scratching their heads.

About 40 years ago I was at a rodeo in central Oregon where a bull managed to scramble out of the arena. A little later I could see a couple of cowboys roping him in a nearby field.

The announcer said that day that there were a few more bulls there than entries to ride them, and offered a free bull ride to anyone who was interested. I did not take advantage of the opportunity.

My boss and I were having a few beers after work one evening and he was grilling steaks. I heard traffic slow to a crawl on 101, very close to the house. After a few minutes. I went around the house to check. When I got there, a steer was standing in the yard. Hmmm...I went back and told my boss there was another guest for dinner. He was very much in the grilling zone, and didn’t want to be interrupted. I said “Just go look “. Nope. I kept pestering him, and he dug his heels in. Finally, just to shut me up, he wandered around front, carrying his grilling fork. By this time, the police that were trying to round up the cattle were running at his house to close a gap that the steer could have gone into. Freaked my boss right out.

Some of the amazing athleticism and guts I’ve ever seen was at the Prescott Rodeo a couple of years ago (my first). Most patriotic night out ever, too.

Growing up nearby, it always evoked images of cattle. Now I guess I know why.
