SIBU - Eight men were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle on Jalan Sarikei-Sibu in central Sarawak.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said in a Nov 21 statement that the deceased comprised seven Indonesians and a local.
Two people who were in the 4WD vehicle suffered light injuries.
The Sarikei fire station received a distress call at about 3.40pm, said the department. “Arriving at the scene about 20 minutes later, firemen saw eight victims from the mangled car.”
It added that two victims were thrown out of the car and all of them were pronounced dead by medical officers from Hospital Sarikei. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
