Newly released emergency dispatch audio is shedding light on the final moments before Oklahoma influencer Sara Gilson was fatally shot in what investigators say was a murder-suicide involving her estranged husband, Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey.

In the 911 recording reviewed by The Epoch Times, a dispatcher told responding officers that a woman could be heard “screaming and crying” in the background of the call before what sounded like a loud gunshot going off.

Authorities with the Owasso Police Department later discovered Gilson, 43, and Duffey, 48, dead from gunshot wounds inside Gilson’s home on the night of July 23.

Authorities were dispatched shortly after 11:15 p.m, following the 911 call and reports of a domestic violence situation, according to the police report. Investigators confirmed Duffey fatally shot Gilson before turning the weapon on himself.

The emergency audio indicates dispatchers lost contact with the caller after hearing the disturbance, and the 9-1-1 operators made repeated attempts to reach the caller again, but had no luck. Moments later, a second call came in from a child reporting his stepfather had shot Gilson.

The incident occurred less than two weeks after Gilson drew national attention with a viral TikTok post, referencing pedophile allegations against Duffey.

On June 10, Gilson was granted an emergency protective order, alleging Duffey was armed, had made suicidal statements, and posed a danger to her safety.

The order also required him to stay away from her residence while divorce proceedings were ongoing. Separate records indicate she had previously filed protective orders against him during earlier periods of their relationship.

Duffey was under investigation over allegations involving a 15-year-old girl connected to a youth basketball team he coached, according to the police report obtained by The Epoch Times.

However, the reported incident allegedly occurred within federal jurisdiction involving tribal status, leaving the investigation to be handed off to federal authorities before the fatal shooting.

The mother of the teenage girl filed her own protective order, which detailed that Duffey was spotted by another coach engaging in the inappropriate conduct with her daughter.

Further, he allegedly sent the minor funds to keep the relationship under wraps while sending her inappropriate text messages and inviting her to his hotel room on one occasion during a tournament trip.

Meanwhile, Gilson, a hairstylist and social media creator known for posting about family life, gained a significant online following in the weeks before her death as her TikTok video spread across social media.

A GoFundMe campaign was created in support of Gilson’s two children, as they “navigate the difficult days, months, and years ahead.”

“Our beautiful friend, Sara, was tragically taken from us in an unimaginable act of violence,” reads the fundraiser. “Her sudden and heartbreaking loss has left an entire community grieving, but the greatest loss is felt by her two precious children, who must now face life without their loving mother.”
