Donald Trump's Justice Department is investigating House lawmaker Cory Mills, a Florida Republican, the Daily Mail has learned.
A person familiar with the matter confirmed the investigation, though the details of what the probe itself entails remain unclear.
Rep. Mills, first elected to Congress in 2022, has been under scrutiny from the House Ethics Committee for two years.
He's facing allegations of campaign finance violations, misuse of congressional resources, and sexual misconduct.
Mills has denied any allegations of wrongdoing on all matters.
His office did not respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment on the Department of Justice's new probe.
The bipartisan House Ethics Committee investigation has unfolded alongside separate alleged controversies involving Mills.
In a 2025 police report, Mills was accused by his then-girlfriend Sarah Raviani of grabbing her, shoving her and pushing her out of the door of his apartment. Mills has denied the accusation, saying the woman's original allegation was 'patently false.'

According to the incident report, the offense being investigated is 'simple assault' at the apartment and the weapon listed was hands and feet.
Police were called to the scene by 27-year-old Sarah Raviani, who told the Daily Mail in a statement that she reached out to police to address a 'personal matter.'
'While the personal matter in question was emotionally charged, there was no physical altercation,' she said.
She said her decision to involve authorities was influenced by several factors including that she was 'severely jet-lagged and sleep-deprived' having just returned from a 14-hour flight. She also said she had been drinking on vacation and had a drink in front of her when police arrived.
Mills denied the accusation in a statement released by his office at the time.
'Congressman Mills vehemently denies any wrongdoing whatsoever, and is confident any investigation will clear this matter quickly.'
Also last year, Lindsey Langston, 25, the winner of Miss United States 2024 claimed in a July sheriff's report obtained by the Daily Mail that Mills threatened her.
Langston, a Florida Republican state committee member, filed the allegations with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department.
Steven Khachigan, a spokesman for the department, told the Daily Mail those claims were later shared with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for further review.
Langston told the authorities that she and Mills were in a romantic relationship from November 2021 to February 2025, and that she lived at his home in New Smyrna Beach during that duration.

Mills, she said, told her that he was soon to be divorced, and that's why she agreed to move in. It is unclear if the lawmaker's marriage to Rana Al Saadi has ended officially.
But Langston left Mills once she saw reports that he had another girlfriend, she told authorities.
'Since February 20th of 2025, Cory has contacted Lindsey numerous times on numerous different accounts threatening to release nude images and videos of her, to include recorded videos of her and Cory engaging in sexual acts,' the report states.
'Lindsey also provided text messages and Instagram messages between her and Cory, which consisted of Cory threatening to harm any men Lindsey intended to date in the future,' it continued.
Mills pushed back in a previous statement to the Daily Mail.
'These claims are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions,' Mills said.
'I have always conducted myself with integrity, both personally and in service to Florida’s 7th District.'
Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina, meanwhile, has demanded that Mills be stripped of his responsibilities over the allegations.
Mills told NewsNation in April that he 'does not belong' in the same category as former Rep. Eric Swalwell or his allies. Swalwell, 45, resigned from office and suspended his California gubernatorial campaign this week after five women publicly accused him of sexual misconduct.
'One, I'm not married, so there's one thing. Two, I've never sexually harassed and or have any complaints by any staffers or interns on the Hill. It's just not even a fair comparison,' the Florida Republican said. He said the ordeal is 'obviously a political, Democratic tit-for-tat.'
It is unclear if Mills' divorce is finalized; it was reported in September 2025 that he was still undergoing legal proceedings. A former Mills staffer recently told the Daily Mail they were unsure if the divorce agreement had been completed.
Earlier this month, Mills' longtime chief of staff and chief counsel, Catherine Treadwell, abruptly resigned.
In her resignation letter, she thanked her co-workers and concluded it with an ominous message: 'The horrors persist, but I do not.'
There is a high bar to expel members of the House.
Two-thirds of the members must vote to boot anyone from the body. Only six members of the House have ever been expelled, the most recent being former New York Congressman George Santos in 2023.
