Ace Combat 8 fans are obsessed with its pink-haired ‘waifu’

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has caught the eye of the gaming community, but it’s not just planes that have caught armchair pilots’ eyes.

During the PlayStation State of Play on June 2, Bandai Namco gave fans an early look at the fighter pilot action they can expect to see when Wings of Theve launches on October 2, 2026.

The latest PS5 trailer showcased everything from sleek-looking aircraft, deadly dogfights, and beautiful environments. We even got a glimpse of the heroes and villains we can expect to see at launch, and they’ve never looked better!

In fact, there’s one character in particular that veteran Ace Combat pilots and fresh-faced recruits have zeroed in on.

Ace Combat 8’s pink-haired ‘waifu’ steals the show

If you were watching the State of Play stream, then chances are you saw the chat collectively losing their minds over Tasha, the smiley pink-haired pilot who looks just as deadly as she does cute.

“Just that pink waifu and I’m sold. Bandai Namco can’t help releasing bangers,” wrote one fan. Another vowed that they would protect her at all costs, saying, “No land battleship will stop me from seeing her again!!

Others even vowed to rekindle their pilot careers, just so they get a chance to see Tasha. “Going to play Ace Combat 8 for her, but I need to get back and finish Ace Combat 7 first lol.”

So, who is Tasha? Well, according to the official website, Tasha was originally an ace pilot in Yuktobania’s aerobatic team, Zvezda. Bandai has revealed that Tasha was on a military aircraft carrier (the Endurance) to shoot publicity footage when war broke out, and she ended up staying on the ship.
