Senior diplomat Barbara Leaf says she received 'positive messages' on fighting terror from Ahmed al-Sharaa; new leaders say they wish to contribute to 'regional peace'

A senior US diplomat told Syria’s new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa on Friday that Washington was scrapping a reward for his arrest, and welcomed “positive messages” from their talks including a promise to fight terrorism.

Barbara Leaf, Washington’s top diplomat for the Middle East, made the comments after her meeting with Sharaa in Damascus — the first formal mission to Syria’s capital by United States diplomats since the early days of Syria’s civil war.

The country’s new authorities said in a statement after the meeting that Syria wants to contribute to “regional peace.”

“The Syrian side indicated that the Syrian people stand at an equal distance from all countries and parties in the region and that Syria rejects any polarization,” the statement said.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Kumbaya time,

This dude is a terrorist which had a 10 million dollar bounty on his head by our State Department. His folks were involved in decapitations and other nice things not to long ago.

But times change and today Russia is in our sight and HTS is fighting the Assad regime.

Now HTS formerly: Jabhat al-Nusrah, a former branch of al-Qa'ida in Syria is so bad.

You got that right folks. AQ isn't so bad after all. Who knew?!?!?

Now this turban and army field jacket wearing dude, pointing to Allah and with an AK in the background in the past, gets depicted wearing suits, polo's with a jacket and the older images are near impossible to find in Google (Google is a US IC creation):

The degree by which our government can pivot is astonishing.

Trump should double the bounty on his first day.

The United States has only one friend in the middle east... Israel.

All the other regimes in that area are either terrorist, supporters of terrorist, or despot dictatorships that support terrorist and terrorist regimes.

If you see this flag flying on cars driving through your neighborhood, you have Syrians.

Don't worry... They're not going back to Syria anytime soon... They like it here.
