(The Center Square) – President Joe Biden’s controversial pardon of his son Hunter may give President-elect Donald Trump a blank check to issue his own round of pardons upon taking office.
Trump said as much in an interview aired Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press when he vowed to pardon a number of people convicted in connection to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan.. 6, 2021, saying he'd look at each case individually.
“These people are living in hell,” he told NBC's Kristen Welker, noting that some had been in jail for three years and promising pardons on Day 1 in office.
More than 1,500 individuals were charged in connection with the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.
“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump said in a statement last week. “Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I hope he pardons them all since every one suffered from abuse of their Constitutional rights, and either biased judges, stacked juries, and double standards of prosecution in D.C. However, I'll accept a "Day One Pardon" of as many as possible.

He allowed himself to be interviewed by Welker? Welker is Jezebel personified.

We can thank Brandon for making this possible. That doesn’t mean that Biden nor Hunter nor the rest of the crime family is off the hook. Hunter will surely become embroiled in another set of crimes, and investigations will proceed apace.
Trump should require members of the Secret Service to report any evidence of criminal activity to the FBI by a protectee. If the Biden’s have a problem with that, then they can waive SS protection, which will save taxpayer money. Win win.

Every last one should be pardoned. They should have been pre-emptively pardoned, just as FJB has pre-emptively pardoned his sone for any federal crime he might have committed between January 2014 and December 2024. These J6 prisoners are political prisoners.

Dang! What a great idea! Once Trump has picked his SS Director, we should pass that suggestion on to him.
