Three hazardous products marketed through Amazon have been identified by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, prompting urgent safety warnings for UK consumers.
The items flagged include Dinosaur Party Favours and Christmas Squishy Toys, both presenting choking dangers for young children, alongside Silver Snake Rings found to contain harmful concentrations of cadmium. All three products were manufactured in China.
Local Authority Trading Standards reported the safety concerns to the regulator, resulting in Amazon removing two product listings from its platform, while border officials rejected the jewellery shipment before it could enter the country.
The Dinosaur Party Favours, marketed as birthday and holiday decorations, were classified as a serious risk by regulators on 11 June.

Safety officials determined that both the eggs and miniature plastic dinosaur figures were small enough to fit completely inside a standard small parts testing cylinder.
Children below three years old face particular danger as they naturally tend to put objects in their mouths during play.

Adding to the hazard, the eggs bear a striking resemblance to foil-wrapped chocolates, making it more likely that toddlers could confuse them with sweets and attempt to eat them.
The product failed to comply with the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
The Christmas Squishy Toys, a pack of 24 festive-themed plastic figures, also received a high risk classification on 8 June after testing revealed several items could pass entirely through a small parts cylinder.
Like the dinosaur products, these toys pose a suffocation threat to infants and toddlers who instinctively explore objects orally.
The Silver Snake Rings presented an entirely different danger, containing 86.7 per cent cadmium—vastly exceeding permitted limits.
This toxic heavy metal builds up within the human body over time, potentially causing organ damage and cancer.
The jewellery breached the REACH Regulations 2008, which govern chemical safety standards.
Amazon has removed the listings for both the Dinosaur Party Favours and Christmas Squishy Toys from its marketplace.
The Silver Snake Rings never reached consumers as customs officials intercepted and rejected the shipment at the border.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has urged anyone who purchased the affected toys to cease using them immediately and ensure they remain inaccessible to children.
Consumers are advised to contact their original seller to seek compensation or a refund.
Further guidance on cadmium exposure and its health effects is available through the government's official publications on GOV.UK.
