FX is finally lifting the curtain on “American Horror Story: 13,” courtesy of a new teaser trailer that confirms the returns of Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon (“AHS: Murder House”); Evan Peters as Kai Anderson (“AHS: Cult”); Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett and Emma Roberts as Cordelia Goode, Marie Laveau and Madison Montgomery (“AHS: Coven”); plus the villains Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch in “AHS: Freak Show”) and Rubber Man (Peters in “AHS: Murder House”).
The network previously announced that “AHS: 13” would feature the long-awaited return of Lange, the anthology series’ most iconic star who has not appeared since 2018’s “Apocalypse.” But then Ryan Murphy let it slip the new season would be an “Avengers”-level mash-up of every “AHS” season, which is more than proven in the teaser as the likes of Mena Suvari’s Elizabeth Short, Gabourey Sidibe’s Queenie and Jamie Brewer’s Nan also pop up.
“I know which [seasons] the fans liked the most. They love ‘Murder House’, ‘Asylum,’ ‘Coven,’ ‘Freak Show,’ and they loved ‘Cult,’” Murphy recently told Variety about the new season. “Some of the actors will be playing two characters from two different seasons in the same scene. Evan was, at one point, playing two different characters and talking to himself. So it was really fun and tricky to make, and I loved that. I’ve edited almost all of them, and I think they’re really good.”
FX has now officially confirmed the following actors as part of the “AHS: 13” cast: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari and Jessica Lange. The epic cast also features Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa, John Waters and more.
“AHS: 13” will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. The season premiere is set for Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu. The show’s premiere night and week two will each feature three episodes, followed by a pair of episodes releasing each Thursday leading up to the 13th and final episode on October 29.
