Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan appeared in Florida court Monday to fight their extradition to the United Kingdom on new rape and sex-trafficking charges.
The controversial influencer brothers made a brief appearance at the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. US Courthouse in downtown Miami after their arrest Saturday.
The pair must remain behind bars as the judge weighs their request.
Andrew, 39, and Tristan, 38, were hit with multiple fresh charges involving four new alleged victims over the weekend by Bedfordshire Police in southeastern England.
The allegations include rape, assault, trafficking and offenses related to “indecent images of a child and extreme pornography,” and span 2010 to 2017, a rep for the force said.
The Tates, who have dual British and US citizenship, already faced charges of rape, bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain relating to three other alleged UK victims between 2012 and 2015.
Their lawyer said in a statement Saturday that he believes the new charges were “greenlighted by a low-level functionary” at the Department of Justice without input from leadership.
The Justice Department said the arrests were approved by leadership of its Criminal Division.
Both siblings had been living in Romania since 2016, where they were arrested in 2022 on separate allegations of participating in schemes to lure women for sexual exploitation.
British authorities, growing frustrated with the lack of progress in the Romanian case, requested US authorities extradite the pair to the UK when they landed in Florida on Saturday.
The Tates, who strongly deny any wrongdoing, have built an empire in recent years promoting misogyny and wealth to an audience of millions of followers, many of them young men and teens.
