Andrew Tate’s crypto crashes 26% following his arrest

Andrew Tate’s cryptocurrency – the meme coin Daddy Tate (DADDY) – spent most of its existence on a downtrend despite several bouts of popularity. Indeed, the digital asset is 95.4% down on the all-time chart.

The latest leg of the downtrend not only sent DADDY more than 26% within less than two days from roughly $0.01475 to $0.01089 at press time on July 20, but was also triggered by a dramatic external event: the arrest of both Tristan and Andrew Tate.

Specifically, after the meme coin stabilized just above $0.006 following the early 2026 crash and, in more recent months, entered a recovery that even led to an early July surge toward $0.03, Daddy Tate suffered a steep collapse starting on July 18 as the news of the popular influencer’s arrest broke.

Why were Tristan and Andrew Tate arrested on July 18, 2026

Elsewhere, despite the brothers’ arrest taking place in the U.S., it was the result of a UK prosecutor’s decision to pursue the influencer on various counts of rape, facilitating trafficking, assault, and ‘offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.’

Additionally, British authorities will be seeking the extradition of Andrew and Tristan Tate following their July 18 arrest for the offences alleged to have taken place between 2010 and 2017, per the relevant press release

The CPS has decided to prosecute Andrew Tate, 39, with seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. The CPS has decided to prosecute Tristan Tate, 38, with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Andrew and Tristan Tate’s crypto fortunes continue deteriorating in 2026

Meanwhile, the latest news regarding the influencers not only constitutes the continuation of their long-standing issues with law enforcement – they have been, over the years, pursued by the police of multiple countries – but also of the general deterioration of their fortunes with cryptocurrencies.

Along with Daddy Tate overwhelmingly proving a poor investment, barring a handful of brief yet explosive rallies, the more famous brother seemingly spent much of 2026 losing money on digital assets, variously trading oil and Bitcoin (BTC), as Finbold reported in March and June of the year.
