Andy Burnham has been slammed for flying on a private jet to Manchester so he could attend the opening of No10 North.

The Prime Minister flew the 38-minute flight from the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to lead the first meeting at his new Downing Street expansion.

Together Declaration co-founder Alan Miller mocked Mr Burnham's journey, declaring: “It's net zero for thee, but not for me.”

His remarks came after presenter Dawn Neesom highlighted the reported £30,000 cost of the Prime Minister’s private jet, quipping that he “could have just got the train like the rest of us”.

Mr Miller went on to question Mr Burnham's mandate, noting that “less than 25,000 people voted for Andy Burnham” before he entered Downing Street.
