Anti-ICE suspect arrested outside New York City federal building after lighting incendiary device

Three people, including two firefighters, were injured Monday and a suspected anti-ICE activist hauling weapons was arrested after he lit an “incendiary device” outside a Manhattan building that houses immigration enforcement, the FBI and other federal agencies, federal officials said.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the suspect is in custody and the three victims suffered minor injuries in the attack that occurred around 8:30 a.m. in lower Manhattan.

Mr. Patel said the incident is being investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Authorities did not identify the man or announce charges against him, but WNBC reported that the suspect is 43-year-old Andrew Arrabaca.

The attack that was stopped by federal agents at the scene.

Several local reports said the man was pulling a cart full of fireworks, flammable liquid and air-soft rifles, or pellet guns, outside the building prior to setting off a smoke-spewing device.

Investigators have not identified the device.

The New York Post reported that the suspect’s cart had an anti-ICE message on it.
