The valuer was mortified after he dropped a precious item despite being warned to be careful with it.
The BBC show follows antiques experts as they travel the country investigating and pricing quirky and rare items.
And in an episode first aired in 2017 that was recently repeated, expert Charles Hanson was left blushing after a trip to Manchester.
The auctioneer and valuer was perusing a collection of antiques with his fellow valuer Christine Trevanion when he picked up an impressive gun.
An Antiques Road Trip expert was left horrified after he broke an almost 200-year-old historical artefact
Charles Hanson was left blushing after he picked up an impressive gun that had been used by King George IV and was 188 years old - and it disintegrated in his hands
After being caught with the broken gun, the expert sheepishly admitted the handle had fallen off before the show's narrator called the star a 'silly boy'
Charles was particularly attracted to the royal item, saying: 'This is George IV. It's a duelling-type pistol and it's 188-years-old.'
He discussed its delicate state and added that he knew it was old and well loved because the handle was 'about to fall off'.
The pistol then disintegrated in his hands and Charles was left so shocked all he could manage was 'Oops'.
After being caught with the broken gun, the expert sheepishly admitted the handle had fallen off before the show's narrator called the star a 'silly boy'.
But taking it all in his stride, Charles accepted he now had to buy it.
He said: 'Oh dear me. Well that's just great, isn't it? I might have to buy it now just regardless. It is pretty tired but the reason I like it is because it's in its original condition.'

But he added: 'It would never, it could never be fired now and it's purely a relic. It could be cheap. That's it really. It could be cheap.'
And Charles' blunder is not the only memorable incident on the show.
Antiques Road Trip expert Catherine Southon playfully shoved her co-star Mark Stacey and called him 'horrid' after he criticised her findings in a recent episode.
The duo kicked off the episode in Aberdeen and took a journey through Cullen before ending up at an auction in Elgin, Moray.
However, the trip was not drama-free as Mark dished out some harsh criticism to his co-star once he saw her purchases.
Revealing he was not a fan of her items, Mark quipped: 'I don't know what to say... so you bought a load of model railway books, you bought a pen... I didn't like it. And, a reproduction fan.'
He added: 'For £172 you should be ashamed of yourself. For that amount of money, you could have done so well.'

Taken aback by his comments, Catherine pushed him away and when he attempted to embrace her, retorting with: 'Get your hands off!'
They later addressed the disagreement individually, by speaking directly to the camera.
Catherine appeared hurt by his comments as she questioned: 'Wasn't he horrid?'
'I don't think that was very nice at all. He wasn't complimentary about any of my items. He said, he thought I should be "ashamed of myself", which was a bit of a cutting remark.'
Mark on the other hand showed no sign of remorse as he told viewers: 'I think she's a bit mad at me because I wasn't overly enthusiastic about some of the items she bought. But, I'm not sorry.'
