An Argentine actress has taken to social media to promote awareness for breast cancer after revealing she underwent surgery to remove tumors.

Soledad Fandiño broke the shocking news via Instagram on Monday and indicated that she sought medical care after she noticed that was not feeling well.

'I recently went through surgery, a stage in my life that began when my intuition convinced me that something was not right,' the 42-year-old former model said. 'Sometimes our body speaks to us in subtle ways and it is important to listen to it.

'The diagnosis of breast cancer is not easy and much less the words we hear from others during this process.

'Sometimes without meaning to, what they say can hurt, generate fear or uncertainty,' Fandiño added.

Former Argentine actress Soledad Fandiño is using her recent breast cancer diagnosis to raise awareness. The 42-year-old shared a series of pictures on her Instagram last Friday of her recovering from surgery and waited until Monday to reveal for the first time that she was recovering from the disease

Argentine actress Soledad Fandiño revealed Monday that she is recovering from breast cancer surgery. 'The most important thing is not to be paralyzed by fear,' she said in an Instagram post. 'There are many things we can do to heal ourselves, to take care of ourselves, to move forward, to act and look for options and to surround ourselves with support is an essential part of the process'

Fandiño, who has a son from her previous relationship with Argentine singer René Pérez, learned along the way how difficult it was to manage what some people had to say about the illness.

'We can choose how we receive it. We must always listen to that inner voice, our intuition that guides us in difficult times,' she said.

'The most important thing is not to be paralyzed by fear. There are many things we can do to heal ourselves, to take care of ourselves, to move forward, to act and look for options and to surround ourselves with support is an essential part of the process,' Fandiño said.

'That's why I want to thank everyone who was around me, who left me a little message. I am recovering, I am healing and with all the faith in the world.'

Fandiño came forward with her recovery from breast cancer surgery after she shared a series of photos Friday that showed her lying on her hospital bed and surrounded by her loved ones following her discharge.

Argentine actress and mother-of-one, Soledad Fandiño revealed on Instagram on Monday that she had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and that she had surgery last week

While she did not reveal why she had been hospitalized, she vowed to share her 'entire process' at the right moment because her focus was 'to heal, wake up and build the new.'

Fandiño's followers were quick to shower her with support, including several who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the past.

'Let's go Sole! I am also in the process of healing,' Paula Giordano wrote. 'I finished radiotherapy, one more step on this path that I have been on since last year. Let's give it my all in this fight.'

'Be strong! I just had surgery for the same thing and I'm waiting for the biopsy results to start with the oncologist,' Cari Andereggen added. 'You have to fight and trust in God.'

Fandiño's public admission came one day before a new American Cancer Society report was published in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians.

The study showed that the breast cancer death rate decreased in the United States around 44 percent between 1989 and 2022, which is about 517,900 fewer breast cancer deaths during that period.

However, the report found that breast cancer incidences increased by 1 percent each year from 2012 to 2021.

The American Cancer Society's biennial update indicated that there was a steep increase in women who were younger than 50 years, (1.4 percent annually) in comparison with those who were 50 years and older (0.7 percent).
