Ariana Grande has received her first Oscar nomination for her supporting role in "Wicked," prompting an emotional response from the star on social media.

The 31-year-old actress and singer earned the Best Supporting Actress nod as part of the film's impressive total of 10 Academy Award nominations for the upcoming 97th Oscars ceremony.

"I cannot stop crying, to no one's surprise," Grande wrote on Instagram, shortly after the nominations were announced on Thursday.

The musical adaptation of the beloved Broadway show has tied for the second-most nominations this year, alongside "The Brutalist."

In her Instagram post, Grande shared a childhood photo of herself dressed similarly to Judy Garland's Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz," alongside an undated video of her singing "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.

The post also included photos of her in costume as Glinda with co-star Cynthia Erivo.

"I'm humbled and deeply honoured to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow just before the big, beautiful bubble entered," she wrote.

"I'm so proud of you, tiny," she added in the heartfelt message.

Grande expressed gratitude to director Jon M. Chu in her post, thanking him "for taking this chance on me and for being the most unbelievably brilliant leader, human being, and most fierce friend."

She also celebrated her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who received a Best Actress nomination for her role as Elphaba.
