Shocking video shows armed gangsters storming a Mexican wedding and gunning down a guest just as the terrified bride was about to throw her bouquet.
The bride was filmed holding the flowers while standing on a chair next to her new husband when at least five men stormed their reception at the Casino del Pueblo in Xalapa on Saturday, according to footage obtained by Jam Press.
“What happened?” asks the cameraman as the party descends into chaos.
The gunman then tried to kidnap wedding guest Vladimir Zúñiga Calzada, a suspected human trafficker, as he was on the dancefloor — shooting him dead when he refused to leave, according to the report. Two others were wounded by gunfire, officials said.
Graphic photos show one man in a suit bleeding profusely from his torso from apparent gunshot wounds.
Jalapa mayor José Manuel Hernández Pérez confirmed that three people were shot at the wedding and that one “was seriously wounded and lost his life.”
He said the wedding venue is roped off and under surveillance, as authorities continue to investigate the shooting, according to NeedToKnow.
“We are fully and absolutely supporting the affected families, hoping to provide information to them,” Perez said.
“We hope that our land will soon recover the peace we so desperately need.”
The deputy prosecutor of the State Attorney General’s Office told reporters at a press conference that Calzada is suspected of being involved in illegal activities, including human trafficking. The suspects reportedly arrived in five vans.
