Bukayo Saka was at it again as Arsenal beat their French opponents in the UEFA Champions League. Check out the best facts and Opta data in our Arsenal vs Monaco stats page.

Bukayo Saka got two goals and an assist as Arsenal secured a big three points in the league phase of the Champions League, beating Monaco 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Ligue 1 side threatened to get back into the game in the second half as they put their Premier League hosts under real pressure, but an error to allow Arsenal a second goal late on and Kai Havertz adding a third sealed things for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Myles Lewis-Skelly, aged 18 years and 76 days, became the youngest player to start a Champions League match for Arsenal since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in September 2011 vs. Olympiakos (18y 44d). He made his mark with excellent work to find Gabriel Jesus in the 34th minute, and the Brazilian crossed low to the far post to give Saka a simple tap in.

Monaco spent large periods of the second half threatening to equalise, but shot themselves in the foot with 12 minutes remaining when passing it around at the back. Mohammed Salisu and goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki made a mess of things under pressure from Havertz, allowing Saka to roll in a simple second from close range.

A quick free-kick in the closing moments led to a Saka shot that went in off Havertz to complete the victory for the Gunners.

Only Mohamed Salah (16 goals, 12 assists) has been involved in more goals in all competitions among Premier League players this season than Saka (9 goals, 12 assists).

Saka has both scored and assisted in five different games for Arsenal in the Champions League since the start of last season, more than any other player. Indeed, he’s been involved in 11 goals in his seven home games in the competition (7 goals, 4 assists).

It was far from a classic Arsenal performance, but the win leaves Arteta’s men in third place in the league phase, handily placed to secure automatic qualification.
