Asda has announced the first-to-market Melt in the Middle Camembert Pork Pie, among other cheesy treats, as Britain's appetite for the creamy French cheese continues to soar.
The supermarket giant reported a remarkable 92 per cent surge in camembert searches on asda.com during the fortnight before Christmas last year.
Now, the retailer has unveiled an innovative range of camembert-based products for Christmas 2024, combining traditional festive favourites with contemporary twists.
The star product, priced at £9, features a rich French camembert wheel centre encased in seasoned British outdoor bred pork, gammon and smoked bacon, all wrapped in hot water crust pastry.

The unique creation can be served either hot or cold, offering versatile dining options for the festive season.
Asda's product development manager for Pies Julie Harris-Hughes said: "Taking inspiration from high-end, trendy London restaurants, the melt-in-the-middle camembert pork pie is a flavour fusion of everything Britain loves; cheese and pork pies, wrapped up in a truly indulgent rich hot water crust pastry that is lovingly hand finished with pastry stars.
"When heated, the cheese oozes from the centre perfectly complimenting the juicy flavour of the premium pork cuts. Each bite brings unrivalled comfort and joy."
According to Google Trends data, searches for camembert reach their annual peak between December 24 and 30, confirming the nation's growing festive obsession with this indulgent cheese.
Asda has reported an impressive 114 per cent year-on-year growth in camembert sales.
The new range also features an Exceptional Pigs in Blankets Camembert Wreath, priced at £6.50 and serving six people.
This showstopping centrepiece combines a creamy French camembert topped with rosemary sprigs, surrounded by pork cocktail sausages wrapped in dry cure oak smoked streaky bacon. The wreath comes with a sachet of hot honey for added sweetness.
