A 28-year-old man is facing potential jail time after exposing himself to shoppers, including two children, at an Asda supermarket in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Gheorghe Berceanu shocked customers when he dropped his trousers and underwear in the car park, revealing his private parts to the public.

The incident, which occurred on February 1, was captured on CCTV following a report from a concerned shopper.

Berceanu has since pleaded guilty to a charge of exposure during his appearance at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.

Burgess added: "There are two young children who are close by."

Following the indecent exposure, Berceanu re-entered the Asda store where his disturbing behaviour continued.

The court was told he could be heard shouting "I want to f**k every woman who walks passed".

Adrian Ions, defending, said he would present "significant mitigation" at the sentencing hearing.

District Judge Kate Meek adjourned the case until April 22, stating: "Between now and then, you will need to speak to probation and have a report prepared by the probation service."

Berceanu was granted bail and is due to reappear at the same court next month.

The incident has left Asda shoppers shocked, with many expressing concern over the public nature of the offence.
