An asylum seeker charity has been put on blast after teaching male migrants not to have sex with children in a taxpayer-funded session.
A lesson led by the Mamacita Foundation, which has been shared online, shows an organiser teaching attendees about the age of consent - and to avoid underage children.
In the footage, a participant could be heard saying: "This is very essential... because we’ve had young men... fall for these... things."
The footage has triggered widespread criticism. Mark Simpson, the MSP for the North East Region, penned a letter to the charity over his concerns that men had to be explicitly told to not have sex with children.
"That is not civic education," he wrote. "It is an admission that your organisation believes some of the men it works with do not understand that children are off limits."
He continued: "Two points stand out as particularly concerning:
- An organisation that cannot provide clear guidance on such a vital issue should not be permitted to call this role.
- Grown men should not need a publicly funded workshop to be told not to have sex with children. If they do, that is a policing and criminal matter."

The Mamacita Foundation explained the session offered a "broader cultural integration and community awareness discussion".
More broadly, the Scottish charity offers food support, pop-in sessions, job assistance and wellbeing activities for migrants, asylum seekers, and low-income families.
They said the organised meet covered "everyday matters", from mental health, jobs and community safety.
"Consent and safeguarding affect everyone, regardless of nationality or background," a spokesman told GB News.

"Providing opportunities to ask questions and address misunderstandings is an important part of community education."
Reform UK also took aim at the video, condemning the description of "numerous assaults young British girls suffer at the hands of fighting age illegal migrant males".
"Reform UK will detain and deport them. Enough is enough," a party spokesman fumed.
A spokesman for the charity has fought back against the claims and insisted the comment was taken out of context.
A spokesman for the charity said: "We received Mark Simpson MSP’s email and attached letter on Friday 18 September 2026 at 8:31pm. He subsequently published a social media post before we had a reasonable opportunity to respond.
"We would have welcomed the opportunity to clarify these matters directly before conclusions were shared publicly.
"We are concerned that volunteers have expressed fears for their safety following the online attention.
"We welcome fair scrutiny and respectful discussion, and ask everyone to consider the effect of their words on volunteers and people accessing community support.
"Our dedicated volunteers make our work possible, and we are grateful for their kindness and commitment to the people of Aberdeen.
"We remain willing to work constructively with elected representatives, public bodies, and specialist organisations to strengthen community understanding and safeguarding."
Last month, the Home Office fell under fire for handing out guides telling asylum seekers not to rape or sexually harass others.
The uncovered leaflets said women can "earn their own money" and "make their own decisions about their lives" in the UK.
Migrants are also warned that sexual remarks should be avoided "even if you think it is a compliment" and that they should avoid whistling or making "kissing sounds" at people.
They were also urged to avoid following someone, "blocking their path", making rude or offensive gestures, or "verbally abuse someone because of their gender, religion, or how they look".
