Australia 1-0 Turkiye

We have reached the hydration break of the second-half.

There will be some cause for concern for Tony Popovic, the Socceroos haven't carried anywhere near as much as threat they did in the first-half.

They are still frustrating their opponents but it is starting to feel like Australia are sinking too deep with 20 minutes still to play.

'Australia so compact and so hard to break down'

Luke Wilkshire at Vancouver Stadium:

Australia again are so compact and so hard to breakdown, when a team is that solid it can be really frustrating for the opposition.

Substituion: Australia 1-0 Turkiye

Vincenzo Montella makes his second change of the evening.

Orkun Kocku is taken off as Yunus Akgun enters the fray.

It is the goal scorer Nestory Irankunda is taken off to rapturous applause.

He is replaced by Nishan Velupillay.

Save! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

Arda Guler tries to catch the goalkeeper out with a wicked effort down to Patrick Beach's right.

But the big stopper gets down well to keep the effort out and he manages to push it away from the danger area.

That doesn't stop a follow up effort coming in but that is deflected behind for a corner that comes to nothing.

Australia 1-0 Turkiye

The first-half felt like it drifted a little bit and that suited Australia perfectly after they scored.

That's not the case for the second-half, there is a real pace to the game now as Turkiye continue to turn the screw.

They now have a free-kick in a dangerous position.

SAVE! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

This time it's Aiden O'Neil who takes the corner and it's a great delivery.

Harry Souttar is just too strong for his marker and he powers a header towards goal from around 10 yards out, it's a little too central but it forces a good save out of Ugurcan Cakir.

Chance! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

It's last gasp stuff at the moment from the Australian defence as Turkiye up the intensity.

There's a number of blocked shots before the ball breaks to Ismail Yuksek on the edge of the box.

He skips past one challenge before his left footed effort takes a wicked deflection that flashes just wide of the Patrick Beach's left post.

Chance! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

Another swift counter attack almost leads to a second for the Socceroos.

Mo Toure again carries the ball a long way straight at the Turkish defence.

He has Jordan Bos to his left, and he is picked out by Toure.

Bos cuts in onto his right foot just inside the box and his effort towards the far corner is deflected behind for a corner.

Second-half! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

Turkiye get us underway for the second-half and they are straight onto the front foot.

Another long range effort, this time from Hakan Calhanoglu but it's straight at Patrick Beach who will be grateful to get an early touch of the ball.

Substitution! Australia 1-0 Turkiye

There is a change just before the second-half gets underway and it is from Turkiye.

Kenan Yildiz is sent on for Baris Asper Yilmaz.

Where have we seen this before?

Nestory Irankunda wheeled away in celebration and paid homage to an Australian soccer legend. See if you can figure out who it was.
