What, like it’s hard?
Ava Phillippe — the 25-year-old daughter of Reese Witherspoon and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe — is breaking in the acting industry with a role in “Doctor Odyssey,” and her first-look at the role is very familiar.
In a clip posted to the ABC series’ Instagram, Ava announced that she will play a girl named Veronica on a spring break-themed episode, premiering Thursday.
The show, created by Ryan Murphy, stars Joshua Jackson as an on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship and will feature appearances by a host of A-list guests including Shania Twain, Rumer Willis, John Stamos, Angela Bassett and many more.
In the behind-the-scenes video, the young actress dons a hot pink triangle-shaped bikini and wears her brunette locks up into a high ponytail — a look strikingly similar to what her mom wore as Elle Woods in her 2001 film, “Legally Blonde.”
In her iconic Harvard video application essay, Woods wears a hot pink, sequin-covered triangle bikini, high pony and matching pink fur jacket as she convinces the admissions committee to accept her into their prestigious college.
The mother-daughter duo’s looks even coordinate down to the jewelry, with Ava wearing a single silver necklace with a “V” for Veronica, and Woods wearing a single silver Tiffany heart necklace.
Witherspoon and her media company, Hello Sunshine, are currently producing a prequel series to “Legally Blonde” entitled “Elle” and while many fans presumed the role would be passed down to Ava, the actress, 49, announced on Thursday that Lexi Minetree will play young Woods in a post shared to Instagram.
“Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production! Couldn’t be more excited to introduce you all to @leximinetree as Elle Woods 💗💝💘” she captioned the post, which showed off a shot of Minetree smiling while taking a phone call in bed.
If she needs a stunt double, we’re sure Phillippe could step in in a pinch.
