Police released Karmelo Anthony’s fresh mugshot ahead of his first night in prison after he was sentenced Tuesday to 35 years for 17-year-old Austin Metcalf’s murder.
Anthony, 19, appeared stone-faced as he stared down the camera while dressed in a black jacket that covered most of his neck.
The teen was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of Metcalf, a high school athlete he killed during a dispute at a track and field meet in Frisco, Texas on April 2, 2025.

The convicted murderer reportedly sobbed his way through the verdict and sentencing. When Metcalf’s family began reading their victim impact statements, Anthony kept his head down – until Metcalf’s twin brother, Hunter, approached the podium.
“You took a son, a brother, a friend, and my best friend, from this world. You took someone from me who was supposed to be an uncle, godfather to my kids. Now I want everything taken from you,” Hunter choked through tears.
The Metcalf family left the court when Hunter finished his speech. Anthony was officially remanded into custody and removed from the courtroom moments later.
