The First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 has spent the summer getting steady price drops — making it easier on any Pokémon TCG budget. And Amazon has now taken another slice off the price of the 30th-anniversary-themed box.
As of Aug. 10, the Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 can be picked up for $41.98 at Amazon. Altogether, that’s $18.01 off its $59.99 list price, giving you a 30% discount and putting the collection comfortably below the $50 mark it was at only a few weeks ago.
Mashable Trend Report
This particular low-priced listing comes from the third-party seller Collectors Expedition and is scheduled to arrive as soon as Aug. 14 at the time of writing. If you want it as soon as possible, the $49.95 version sold by Kings Games is being shipped by Amazon itself — allowing Prime members to get theirs as soon as today or Aug. 11, depending on your location.
Walmart has knocked an extra $5 off the Series 2, while TCGplayer’s lowest unopened listing comes to a total of $34.39 when shipping is added on, going only $1 above its estimated market price.

You’ve got a nice trinity of options depending on your trading card-buying preferences, but the contents of this particular Series 2 Partner Illustration Collection will be the same no matter where you buy from: a celebration of first partner Pokémon from Johto, Unova, and Galar — with Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble making up the nine illustration rare-style promo cards.
Each box gives you one special pack containing three of those nine promos, plus two regular Pokémon TCG booster packs and a sticker sheet. Since the promo cards are random, pulling the complete nine-card set will take more than one box unless you trade for whichever starters you are missing.
