Ben Affleck has revealed that he regularly plays video games, including Fortnite and other shooters, but sometimes finds himself arguing with younger players after getting beaten online.
The Hollywood actor discussed his gaming habits during an appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, where he also explained how Fortnite helped inspire costumes in his latest Netflix thriller, Animals.
Affleck said that while he considers himself a capable player, competing against younger gamers often reminds him that he isn’t quite as good as he thinks.
Ben Affleck admits he argues with younger gamers online
“I always play games,” Affleck said, explaining that he enjoys sports titles like Madden and NBA 2K alongside first-person shooters.
“I play first-person shooter games, so I think I’m good, and then 12-year-olds just f**k you up. I try to come out, and I’m like, ‘Here I come.’ I get killed right away, and then they taunt you, like, ‘You suck. F**k you!’ I end up getting in arguments. ‘F**k you! I don’t suck! I’m a grown man!’”
Despite admitting that younger gamers frequently get the better of him, Affleck has continued playing shooters and has become increasingly involved with the Valorant community.
The actor has attended multiple Valorant esports events with his son and previously revealed that he mains KAY/O, one of the game’s playable agents.
In 2025, Affleck also joined esports organization Sentinels for a Valorant watch party, where he discussed his experience playing the game while watching professional competition.
