Bethenny Frankel may be a jet-setter but there is one thing she's definitely not doing when she gets on the plane - and that's wearing makeup.

In a new TikTok video posted to her account, the Skinnygirl founder, 53, seemed to issue a public service announcement about what could happen to your skin if you wear foundation on a flight.

She explained that she made the video in response to a recent podcast that former Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder appeared on, where she admitted that she wears foundation to the airport.

However, this did not seem to bode well with Frankel.

'I just watched a video where Stassi Schroeder says that she wears foundation to travel,' the former Real Housewives of New York star explained in the beginning of her video.

Bethenny Frankel may be a jet-setter but there is one thing she's definitely not doing when she gets on the plane - and that's wearing makeup

'I've heard other people say this, now, you can say a lot of things about me, I have excellent skin... wearing foundation on an airplane or in an airport or when you travel, any sort of pigment, any makeup, it is so disgusting for your face,' she continued.

Frankel stressed that wearing makeup while traveling is 'so bad for your skin' and that even if you don't get breakouts very often, you don't know what is really under those layers.

'I have had microdermabrasion after doing my makeup for a couple of events, and you can see it's filled with makeup,' the BStrong philanthropist said.

She shared it doesn't matter how many times that you cleanse or clean your face, because makeup will trap in your pores.

'I could be meeting Ryan Gosling pre-marriage in an airport, it doesn't matter who I'm dating, who I'm sleeping with, what they look like, what the status is, you cannot be wearing makeup in an airport or on a plane,' she said.

'I just can't endorse it, I can't survive this, I can't talk about it, and we can fight all day. You cannot be a makeup plane-wearer, I don't think I can handle it,' Frankel concluded.

And, it looks like the former Big Shot With Bethenny reality star may be onto something here.

According to a 2018 report by Harper's Bazaar UK, wearing makeup on the plane can have an effect on our skin because of all the outside factors that happen the flight.

'I just can't endorse it, I can't survive this, I can't talk about it, and we can fight all day. You cannot be a makeup plane-wearer, I don't think I can handle it,' Frankel concluded

In the comments section of Frankel's post, many viewers were divided over the important matter

'The change in atmospheric pressure and the air conditioning effect our toll receptors within our sebaceous glands that dictate the amount of secretions we do or do not produce,' London-based cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Frances Prenna Jones told the outlet at the time.

Dr. Prenna Jones explained that our skin then becomes dry, which means that wearing moisturizer and other makeup products 'blocks our sebaceous glands,' leading to skin that can become more prone to breakouts.

She recommended washing makeup off while on your flight and applying a product that contains hyaluronic acid to help hydration, as well as a face mist.

But in the comments section of Frankel's post, many viewers were divided over the important matter.

'I would DIE before I went to the airport without makeup. I can't imagine going ANYWHERE without makeup,' one person wrote.

Another agreed, 'I never don't wear makeup on a plane. I think if anything, it's a barrier between your skin and the world.'

'Disagree and I like a lot of your hot takes… airport make up wearer for life!! No different than on the ground,' someone else typed.

Others, however, were on Frankel's side when it came to the great travel skincare debate.

'Right?! I can't stand the feel of makeup on my skin. I only wear it for events beside mascara. I cannot imagine traveling w makeup on,' a user shared.

One person wrote, 'Agree. I would die before wearing makeup to travel.'
