President Joe Biden’s farewell address was a masterclass in projection.

Often, when someone is guilty and refuses to acknowledge their wrongdoing, they will levy the same accusations of which they are guilty against you, even if you are innocent. Did I lie? No, you lied. Did I steal your money? No, you stole my money first. They will project, and in doing so, they will feel morally superior, ridden of their guilt, and ultimately better about themselves, because at least they are not you, the guilty one, the bad one. (RELATED: Biden Paints Dark And Depressing Picture Of America In Farewell Address)

In Biden’s final, wheezing, brief address to the American people, he attempted to diagnose the ills of the country. Somehow, his presidency was a resounding and transformative success, yet at the same time, the United States has transformed into a brittle, chaotic, and dystopian democracy, a nation teetering on the edge of revolution. And, with each accusation, Biden seemed to expose his own administration’s disastrous record, which saw the federal government engage in abuse after abuse, from COVID-19 censorship to the political persecution of Donald Trump.

“I have no doubt that America is in a position to continue to succeed. That’s why in my farewell address tonight, I want to warn the country of some things that give me great concern,” Biden said, sitting behind the Resolute desk. “This is a dangerous concert – that’s the dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra-wealthy people.”

“They’re dangerous consequences if their abuse of power is left unchecked. Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power, and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead. We see the consequences all across America, and we’ve seen it before, more than a century ago, but the American people stood up to the robber barons back then and busted the trust,” the president went on to say.

Biden later issued a warning about Big Tech, or what he described as a “tech industrial complex.”

“It could pose real dangers for our country as well. Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and disinformation, enabling the abuse of power, the free press is crumbling,” the president said. “The others are disappearing. Social media is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by lies, both for power and for profit.”

Does Biden really want to talk about oligarchs, Big Tech censorship, the concentration of power in the hands of the few, and eroding democratic norms?

If he thinks billionaire oligarchs are such a threat to democracy, then why would he award George Soros, who has a net worth north of $7 billion and has spent billions and billions funding left-wing causes and candidates, the Presidential Medal of Freedom?

“He settled in America as he became an investor and philanthropist, supporting key pillars of open societies: rights and justice, equity and equality, freedom now and in the future,” Biden said of Soros during an address at the White House earlier in January. “His inspiring generosity reminds us all of our capacity and our obligation to stand up to the abuse of power and to be guardians of democracy and all people yearning to be free.”

Biden also seemed quite concerned over the rise of tech companies and social media. However, his very own administration colluded with those very same tech platforms, such as Google and Facebook, to clamp down and censor free speech during the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, his State Department worked with fact-checkers to attack conservative news outlets. If anything, Biden enabled tech giants during his administration and set a dangerous precedent by giving them the green light to erode the First Amendment because America was in the grips of a public health crisis. Not only did Biden censor his own citizens during the pandemic, he issued a sweeping and historic vaccine mandate, and forced hundreds of millions to get the jab. Big Pharma was happy, of course, and saw their profit margins get fat and cushy. Yet here is the president giving America a dire warning about the wealthy and powerful gaming the system to their benefit.

More recently, Biden caved to his party’s anti-democratic coup to replace him with Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee. He also reportedly expressed regret over tapping Attorney General Merrick Garland for not being more aggressive in prosecuting his chief political opponent, Donald Trump.

These are the actions and sentiments of a president who has eroded democracy, not defended it, as he so vehemently claimed throughout his address.
