Fortnite Chapter 6 might last longer than most chapters, and that’s either thrilling or absolutely awful, depending on your playstyle.

Chapter 6 Season 2, titled Lawless, dropped on February 21, 2025. Epic Games turned the island into a gangster’s paradise. Crime City, Outlaw Oasis, Shiny Shafts, and Lonewolf Lair are the new hot spots. Big Dill (yes, that’s his name) brought Dill Bits, a shady currency for Black Market weapons.

Before this, Chapter 5 sped through four seasons. It started in December 2023 and wrapped up in February 2025. That’s 333 days of map changes and shifting metas. Some players felt rushed but others, relieved.

Rumors say Fortnite Chapter 6 could last six seasons – two more than Chapter 5. These news, shared by pretty much every trustworthy dataminer in the Fortnite sphere (AllyJax, Shiina), is either great news or your worst nightmare.

Fortnite Chapter 6 is here to stay for six seasons

If you love crime bosses, campers, and constant Kneecapper spam, then you’re in luck. If not, well, you might be stuck in this meta for a while.

“I can sense the storyline getting good over time,” another said optimistically. Someone has faith. Hopefully, they’re right, and we don’t just get six seasons of the same old loot pool.

“Robbed of 6 seasons on the Chapter 3 and 4 map,” one fan complained. IFair point—Chapter 3 had diverse biomes, while Four had Mega City and weapon buffs. It’s hard to understand why Epic didn’t decide to extend those previous seasons as well

“Finally!! 4 seasons wasn’t enough time on the map,” cheered another while a fourth player hyped “6 seasons for Chapter 6?! This is going to be epic!”

Despite the drama, Lawless is thriving. Outlaw Keycards keep players on the move, and the Black Market adds a sense of strategy unless you want to get dove by campers. Love it or hate it, this chapter isn’t leaving anytime soon.
