Bill Belichick's ex-girlfriend has turned heads with a cryptic post to her Instagram... at the exact moment her former flame was being unveiled at his new job.

Belichick's life has flipped in recent months, with the legendary New England Patriots coach swapping the NFL for college football at UNC, and his long-time girlfriend Linda Holliday, 61, for Jordon Hudson, 24.

Earlier this week, Belichick was unveiled for the first time at UNC, and Holliday was trying her best to stay zen with a post to social media.

Alongside a caption which read 'I don't know who needs to hear this today but it's so accurate', she reposted a mindfulness picture.

In the graphic, there are two sections: 'In my control' and 'out of my control'.

Seemingly, Holliday was trying to remind herself that 'the actions of others' and 'what happens around me' are out of her control, while she is able to control 'how I move on from failures' and 'my mindset', among other things.

Bill Belichick was unveiled as North Carolina's new coach at a press conference this week

Belichick dated Linda Holliday for 16 years, before they split up in the latter stages of 2023

At the same time Belichick was being unveiled, Holliday took to Instagram with this post

Holliday, 61, dated Belichick, 72, from 2007 to September 2023 and was with him during his final three Super Bowl wins as head coach of the Patriots.

Shortly after the pair split, the NFL icon began dating cheerleader Hudson, who he had previously met in 2021 when they sat next to each other on a plane.

They went official in October 2024 and she was by his side for his UNC unveiling this week as their relationship continues to go from strength to strength.

Belichick has signed a five-year, $50million contract with North Carolina for his first job at the collegiate level of the game.

'I've always wanted to coach in college football, it just never really worked out,' he said earlier this week. 'Had some good years in the NFL, so that was OK.'

When asked about fans' concerns that he might leave quickly for the next NFL job, Belichick said: 'I didn't come here to leave.'

It did, however, later emerge that Belichick will have a release clause in his deal of just $1million - hardly a deterrent for any NFL team that may one day wish to hire him.

He was also quizzed on the chance he wouldn't see out his five-year deal due to his age.

'It beats working. My dad told me this: when you love what you do, it's not work. I love what I do. I love coaching,' he responded.

During an appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show' on ESPN prior to agreeing to the UNC job, Belichick laid out what his approach at the college level would be.

'The program would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players than have the ability to play in the NFL,' Belichick said.

'It would be a professional program - training, nutrition, scheme, coaching, techniques - that would transfer to the NFL. It would be an NFL program at a college level.'
