Bill Gates Says He Will Not 'Socialize' With A.I.

Bill Gates is opening about how he refuses to use A.I. for his "personal relationships" ... and says the technology treats him like a serious person.

During Sunday's episode of "Meet the Press" ... he told host Kristen Welker that he's not chatting with an A.I. bot the same way he would a friend.

He admitted ... "I’m not like, 'Hey, do you like me? Hey, am I a nice guy?' So I just never went down that path, because I’m lucky in terms of my family, friends and everything."

He added ... "I don’t socialize with the A.I. It knows I’m a very serious person."

Bill's comments -- which include a plea for lawmakers to regulate the new technology -- come amid a flurry of concern about the future of A.I. in the past month.

Worth noting, Bill weighed in on the A.I. vs. humanity debate ... and while he didn't give a definitive answer, he did say that the A.I. is "powerful enough" to cause "a billion deaths."

This conversation comes weeks after A.I. whistleblower Jacob Coxon came forward warning there was a 10% chance of an A.I.-caused apocalypse ... shortly before OpenAI revealed several alarming instances of the technology's hacking capabilities -- and Sen. Bernie Sanders introduced a bill to ban of all artificial superintelligence.

Even Donald Trump -- who calls the worries surrounding A.I. a "hoax" -- has said he wants to create an A.I. Force.
