IMO, they’re not capable of introspection. Leftism is religion to many of them. I call them Neo Puritans. That’s what they are. Notice what joyless, humorless, intolerant, authoritarian busybodies they are. Notice how consumed with signaling their virtue they are.....as if they were members of The Elect. Notice how they demand complete fealty to every single last precept of Leftism....violate even one and you are cast out as a heretic....errr, I mean “racist” or some kind of “-phobe”. They’re just like the first group of Puritans.

It’s not so much that they are unable to understand, it’s that they refuse to. They cannot admit that their entire worldview was rejected, so they have to resort to claiming that people were somehow bamboozled by Trump. That’s why they keep obsessing about “messaging”, believing that if only they had better communicated the “awesomeness” of their twisted beliefs, they would have won. And of course there’s also the usual condescension on their part, claiming that people were just too stupid to understand how awesome their beliefs are (which is how Trump was able to bamboozle them).

The good thing is that as long as they keep thinking this they will continue to lose.

No, the reason they don't learn is because they know their worldview is unpopular and could never withstand an honest vote - but they think those idiot yokels need to have it forced on them, anyway. Local election officials just didn't quite generate enough fraudulent ballots this time. Harris did nothing wrong. "Our message was perfect," they claim, "It's just that those uneducated rubes refuse to understand they are voting against their own interests!"

The Democrat Party appears to have been permanently captured by this thinking, so serious anti-fraud efforts will reduce them to a minority faction. The real fight will be between the Deep State and MAGA - the winner being whoever gets the most former Democrat voters to join them. Trump with his all-star cast has a big edge in attracting real human voters, but the career politicians are still firmly on Team Deep State and are happy to use election fraud to steal both parties' primaries from reform-minded candidates.

The real battle hasn't even started yet.
